Woman on maid abuse charges

A 71-YEAR-OLD woman was charged on Wednesday with two counts of slapping her Indonesian maid. Ang Geok Choo is alleged to have caused hurt to Ms Pepy Meganingsih, 24, at her Bishan Loft condominium in June and August last year. She was given a week to engage a lawyer. She will be back on April 21. If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to three years and/or a fine of up to $7,500 on each charge.
