I have just read about our very own local talent the 18 year old teen Aloysius Yapp who overcame long odds to win the World Junior Pool Championships. Apart from a local mentor Paul Pang this winner has had very little support from our Sports authorities. Almost all of the support has come from his encouraging mother.

Compare this with the huge amounts spent on importing shuttlers and paddlers from overseas and training , lodging , feeding and allowances given and you can see the difference in treatment of FTs vs locals.

Compare this also to how much they have poured into our loser footballers who cannot appear to deliver and probably never will.

Kudos to Aloysius our home grown talent.

This proves the point that I have been making all along.

If you work hard for success and want it badly enough, you will achieve it.

On the other hand those who are rewarded without having to achieve are simply a waste of taxpayer dollars.

This also shows that talent can and should be bred and nurtured locally. There may be room for FTs who value add but pursuing them like there is no tomorrow will not help anyone.

Wait until he wins more tournaments and becomes very successful then everyone in Sinkieland will want to claim the credit.
