Since the suspected murderers are between 18 to 20 years old. If they are convicted and sentenced to hang, will M Ravi say spare their lives.?

After all, it likely that these people comes from broken families and they are below 21. (Same as Yong Vui Kong)

So spare their lives? This is M Ravi's favourite tune, right?

The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.

- William Shakespeare [Henry VI]

More interestingly, what does abolish-the-death-penalty RADM (minus 6 ranks) MS Goh have to say? :D

We should hang the 4 men plus the rest involved in the illegal assembly. All culpable. Along with rich kids driving fast cars and killing innocent pedestrians.

How about those that sue and bankrupt people to protect their own reputation.

Ravi would hypocritically keep quiet and look at his shoes. Ravi is mad, but he is not dumb. He and his no-death-penalty gang would never take up a case to defend such people as the wave of public support would be against him.

So what kind of stance Ravi has got?

unlikely its murder charge...

it is not easy to prove murder becos of the capital punishment that it carries.

the defendant can claim that he is provoked, backed by witnesses. In any case, staring usually accompany by taunts, insults, shoving, etc..some more so many people involved...easily chaotic and difficult to point a finger at some one.

I think it will be lesser charge of manslaughter? If the defendant can prove that the deceased has a part to play in causing his own death, then it will not be murder.

Vis-a-vis the other case of the NS guy who was charged will knifing the woman at basketball court - that one more clear cut murder although he looks looney to me.

Troublesome to hang them.
Feed them to the wild dogs.
Case close.

don't hang them, just throw them in the lion or tiger den in the zoo.

If M Ravi not fighting for them, then he is pro-FT!

Fight for foreigners but not Singporeans!

Your argument is quite hilarious. I can just picture it.

The 3 accused went down to the mall to share their views on global warming and the role that responsible countries have to play over milkshakes and coffee. At the next table, the victim and his friend starred at them and showed these concerned 3 young men the finger, not once but repeatedly. At the same, the victim made some derogatory and disparaging comments about their mothers. The victim then called them pussies and challenged them to a fight.

The element of provocation is evident. Immediately, one of the accused picked up a vegetable knife that was lying around by coincidence and stabbed the victim repeatedly.

Based on the above, it should be manslaughter and not murder.

What do you think - does this sound like what the law is about and that justice is served?

Client or lawyer? :D

Judge : So you're pleading insanity. Does the defendant has a psychiatric report?

Lawyer : No your honour, but I have a psychiatric record.

Judge :  What does that got to do with the accused or this case?

Lawyer : The accused must also be insane to have hired me.

prob the guy that did the chopper thing will hang. the others will take jail time.

1 interesting thought.

What if one of the 4 admit to delivering the fatal knive on Darren (trying to save the rest from murder charges), will the other 3 be charged with causing grievous hurt instead?
