Will Johor Overtake KL?

And Singapore needs foreign trash to build up their economy? Imagine those Ah Tiongs, Pinoys, Ah Nehs, Bangalas, Myanmars, Siam, Javans and Angmos leave. Singapore will just collapse. Those Singaporeans are so useless.

The truth hurts huh?

Singapore was already built up by sinkies long before those ppl came over. Countered you. Don't be butthurt.

If there is a ferry terminal somewhere in woodlands, thousands can avoid the traffic jams daily to cross the causeway. But like I said, pappies wont go for it.

A study for an MRT to be built in Iskandar is now underway funded by both countries. It is estimated that the new MRT will be operating in 2018/

Yup, right. If no one came to Singapore, everything would come crashing back down. Useless Sinkies can build but cannot maintain.

Whereas Malaysian cannot build but even without Sinkies, they won't ever collapse. They've got land, oil. Sinkies got retarded ppl.

My butt didn't hurt cos you just shoved it into your own ass.

wonderful!!!! people got more choices to buy homes...no more 99 year lease.

How about building the MRT from Singapore to JB? Like they have from HK to Shenzhen?

Yes i read about it somewhere. But for everyday causeway crosses, abit troublesome to go all the way to puteri harbour. It makes no sense. Than also how much is a ticket on the ferry? In Perth there is a ferry service that crosses the swan river to the other side. It is cheap and you can use ur transit card to buy the ticket. Even though there are train services and buses that goes to that part of perth, they still have the ferry service just walking distance to esplanade train station in perth.

Johor transit system link-up with Thomson MRT will Benefit Senai Garden condo @ RM380 psf only, in Iskandar Hotspot E. Johor’s Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman said that the state’s rapid transit system (RTS) is likely to link up with ....continue reading

Johor’s Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman said that the state’s rapid transit system (RTS) is likely to link up with the Thomson MRT Line in Singapore.

Mr Ghani told a news briefing that the Thomson Line, which is likely to be completed in 2018, would have a station facing Johor.

‘At the moment, we have to implement the double tracking from Gemas to Johor Baru. The Transport Ministry has issued letters for squatters to be relocated,’ he said.

Mr Ghani also said that a possible development in the future is enhancing communications between Malaysia and Singapore.

He said that as 60,000 to 70,000 people travel from Malaysia to Singapore, it was crucial to have a good rapid transit system to link and connect the two countries.

Other joint efforts include the joint venture between Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Singapore’s Temasek Holdings Ltd to develop an iconic wellness township in Iskandar Malaysia, the main southern development corridor in Johor.

Mr Ghani said that work on the wellness township project at a waterfront area in Danga Bay, Iskandar Malaysia, is likely to start this year.

Among other things, the wellness township will offer medical services, holistic wellness services and facilities, and alternative medical treatment.

Mr Ghani also said that Iskandar Malaysia needs a strong domestic investor base to sustain growth momentum.

Iskandar Region Development Authority (IRDA) said that Iskandar Malaysia would maintain almost an equal ratio between domestic and foreign investments, but a strong presence of domestic investors was needed as they are the ones that would stay.

‘At the same time, the presence of foreign investors is also crucial in bringing the latest innovations and creativity which, in turn, will bring in new knowledge,’ said its chief executive, Ismail Ibrahim.

Last year, 52 per cent of investments in Iskandar Malaysia were from local investors, while 48 per cent were foreign investments, he told reporters after a tour of Iskandar Malaysia.

Mr Ismail said that the presence of foreign investors would also create a climate of confidence which in turn would put Malaysia, especially Johor, on the investors’ radar.

Among the foreign brands in Iskandar Malaysia are the renowned international film production company Pinewood Shepperton plc, Chelsea premium outlets and Legoland theme park.

The IRDA is the regulatory authority mandated to plan, promote and facilitate the development of Iskandar Malaysia into a strong and sustainable metropolis of international standing, where living, working, business and leisure converge seamlessly.

Mr Ismail said that Iskandar Malaysia aims to attract investments worth RM73 billion (S$30 billion) from 2011 to 2015 as most companies, either local or overseas, are planning to relocate their business.

He said that Iskandar Malaysia is expecting investors from China, South Korea, Japan, India, the Middle East, Europe and North America.

or at least merge with Kotta Tinggi, Johore baru and Pontian...

The whole area you described above is called Iskandar.
During the time of Dr M, he discourage any businesses with singapore, so johore affected. What we are seeing is the pent up demand after almost 30 years of stagnation.

The causeway to johore has military significance and reason why singapore adamant not to replace it. A bridge is easily destroyed. Unfortunately, the causeway is stifling the development of marinas and yacht clubs along the northern shores of johore straits. In the old days, singapore army helicopters would go to RSAF crash sites without permission from Malaysian authorities to safe/salvage their pilots/aircraft with israeli commanders on board . So Malaysia banned RSAF from taking off over Johore. So I was told.

They should make it easy for JB people to access Changi airport. That will be the impetus for more investors to participate in iskandar.

I thought the causeway was to block their seaport access?

What military significant? Can easily fill up a land bridge from tekong.

Ever since moving to JB i have noticed that more and more sg plates crossing the causeway on a daily basis. Even in the less peak periods of between 1pm to 5 pm. Soon the causeway will be insufficient to handle the daily loads of traffic. A ferry service will be good for commuters who take public transport if they are wise to implement one. But unfortunately anything that will benefit sinkees living abroad wont be good for Pappies.

A nice triple decker bridge will be a good option for motorised transport(one deck for each direction) and third deck will be equipped with a tram/MRT for commuters between the two countries.

landing craft/helicopter form initial surprise attack and once the area around the causeway is secured, the causeway is used to transport more troops across. With 6 lanes, it will be difficult to destroy the causeway. even if punctured by bombs, it can be easily refilled.
Dr M thought reluctance to build bridge was because it threatened singapore's port supremacy. He was wrong.

The johore straits is narrow and curvy and can only be used by tug and barges and smaller ships and is a natural protected harbour from storms. But if causeway removed, the developers will start building marinas and yacht clubs with golf facility all along the northern stretch to get high rollers to buy houses. Good for johore's economy, but bad for singapore's military intentions.

Not likely to happen. Johor is a Sultanate and Singapore need to embrace their constitution if they were to merge. What do we do with Tony Tan?

Oh look at how retarded you make your arguments. FYI if no one comes to any country it would more or less crash or stall pretty badly. Global trade is a very big part of any country including large countries like china and the US and in any case why would anyone stop coming to sg so therefore your so-called imaginary scenerio is plain dumb. Why do you say sinkies cannot maintain? So far everything in sg is holding up. It's still the port of call in the region and so on etc. Mudland might not collapse without singapore BUT let's not forget what the original discussion i was having with him before you butted in. We were talking about how johor would even overtake the capital in terms of development cos of singaporeans coming in to spend on johor. How useless do you have to be to actually depend on a smaller country's citizens aka foreigners to build up your country's economy and even worse have the town/city that the foreigners spend/invest in actually overtake your own country's capital. What's even worse is that they have natural resources like you mentioned and still lose out to singapore just as you yourself have admitted in this post of yours that i'm quoting.

Take a moment to digest this. Mudland has natural resources but still depends in singapore to build up their economy and the area johor that sinkies spend their money on might even overtake the capital city and yet they have natural resources but still depends so much on singapore which is so many times smaller with a much smaller population. That's like 2 ppl having a race this person is riding on a motorized bicycle (mudland) while the other person is running barefoot (singapore) and the person running barefoot still beats the person riding on a motorized bike. Wow that's seriously super incompetent.

Seems like your ass hole is now a gaping hole.
