Dr Chia Thye Poh (born 1941) is a Singaporean former political prisoner.

Detained under the Internal Security Act of Singapore for allegedly conducting pro-communist activities against the government, he was imprisoned for 23 years without charge or trial and subsequently placed under conditions of house arrest for another nine years – in which he was first confined to the island of Sentosa and then subject to restrictions on his place of abode, employment, travel, and exercise of political rights.

Lim Hock Siew, locked up for 20 years, died 2012.

How much of our tax dollars are being used to create an impression that sinkees care about Old Fart? There were sinkees who said on TV that they wouldn't go to SGH to show their concern. We celebrate Thomas Edison for his "inventions", and not the engineers who worked under him and did most of the work. Did you know that Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb?

It's pretty much the same with LKY and his team of Old Guards. Most of them, despite their massive contributions, died in relative obscurity. Only a few mourned when Goh Keng Swee passed away. Today, when LKY passed away, millions of sinkies, young and old, offered their condolences and paid respects.

That's life. That's awaiting you if you are a good leader instead of just a follower.
