This man has been embroiled in many issues that put him in a poor light for someone who wants to be a president.
1) He created an uproar in a previous election when he clearly broke one of the election laws by entering a polling station for a purpose other than to cast his vote. He was rightly there to garner votes after the the alloted time to do so. He was only saved together with GCT by the then Attorney General who is now the Chief of Justice.
2) He was a bigshot in GIC that lost countless of billions of dollars in poor investment decisions. He willingly spent more on saving foreign banks than he did to save Singaporeans from financial hardships during the worse financial crisis in the last 60 years. It looks like Singaporeans will have to wait 100 years before the Reserves will ever be used for their sake.
3) He viciously pushed for pro-foreigner policies from education to work and all this made Singaporeans suffer
4) His son seems to be the only one to ever receive 12 years NS deferment to study medicine at an institution that was not approved by the Singapore government.
