I would think that Thailand had a far superior military to Cambodia. Yet the Thai PM got to plead with Hun Sen in a leaked phone call.

The coward Thai Military went on to threaten to overthrow the PM INSTEAD OF whacking Cambodia because of this embarrassment. Indeed, Thailand has to many useless generals, the highest general-soldier ratio in the world.

Seen on the left are the rankings as per Global Firepower (GFP) while on the right is the one based on my model along with their final scores and rank change compared to GFP. Here are the key takeaways:

1. Singapore still holds a comfortable lead over all other countries in the region.
2. Indonesia is not (yet) the military power that it's often regarded as although it still certainly has a capable military.
3. Myanmar, and to a lesser extent, Cambodia, have seen their scores drastically increase due to their large amount of very old equipment.
4. The Philippines suffered a massive fall in rank and is surpassed even by Cambodia.
5. The nations in the region can be divided into 2, the first group containing the more capable militaries from rank 1-5 and the second group with weaker militaries from rank 6-9, wherein the gap between the two groups is almost worth 2000 points at their closest points (Thailand and Malaysia).

This is so true. I'm Vietnamese, but I have to admit if we have to go to war with Singapore, we are doomed. Their equipments are far more modern, we would suffer 10x damage the Russians suffered in Ukraine, should we fight em

Have to admit that too, they are the most developed in southeast asia after all. I hope more modernization will come to Vietnam People's Army

Thai Army is not war tested unlike Cambodian Army under HunSen.
