SINGAPORE : Singapore's Law and Home Affairs Minister, K Shanmugam, will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meetings in Davos, Switzerland from January 26 to 30.

A statement from the Home Affairs Ministry said Mr Shanmugam will be the representative of the Singapore government.

In addition, he will also have meetings with other state leaders and industry captains on the sidelines of the Davos meetings.

Isn't it obvious? These so called meetings overseas are basically tax payer paid holidays for the ministers. Davos is the biggest ski resort in Switzerland, and now is prime ski season there. Shan going skiing for sure. For this meeting, Hng Jiang should go or maybe the other Shan. When he goes to the meetings, the other ministers from other countries will also ask him what the fuck he is doing there. Give these fuckers million $ salary, not enough, must throw in paid ski vacation.

The hard work would be done by senior civil servants. At most, Shan would present a paper or two prepared by civil servants. He will keep shaking hands and network. In a nutshell, his absence won't be felt by anyone.
