Pastors are basically lay person. They read the Bible but don't understand so they continue to fuck around.

Priests on the other hand are theologists well versed in the bible so much so they thought, if god can have a son by immaculate conception, they too wanted a daughter by the same way.
So they remained celibate. Thus truly, some of the nuns under the priests got pregnant miraculously.
It made their faith stronger that Jesus was a son of god because they had proof they could have a daughter without sex.

If you asked @JohnTan he would have told you that the miracle even extended to boys getting pregnant when the priests sodomised them.
They believed it so much that the church now almost recognize LGBTQIA as no more sinful act.
