As a kid, I remembered sinkie will have various ongoing campaigns e.g. 2 is enough, ..
Also remembered singing the courtesy song - courtesy is for free, courtesy is for you and me...

What has happened to sinkieland ? Is it due to too many foreigners and all these closely knitted campaigns are long forgotten.
Wish sg can be back to those days

I heard of tray return campaign only in sbf , not sure is initiated by the foodcourt or by garmen. The old sinkie campaign was very well advertised on tv and medias.

It could be that the rulers are trying to shed that "paternalistic" image and Singapore as a "Nanny State" where the government tells the people how to behave. They've shifted methods to be more suave and in-line with current day social trends like through TV serials, rap music and other more suttle ways. This way, it is less "in your face" sort of way.

In many ways I am a Sinkee - I work here, pay taxes here, eat at local food courts, buy groceries from NTUC/Giant, pay COE. In other ways I am worse off than a regular Sinkee - not privileged to enjoy discounts from Polyclinic, general hospitals, public housing, education for kid.

Anyways, I just see myself as a human being living in an urban setting, complying with the local laws, abiding by local norms. Aiyah, at the end of the day, just maintain health and stay out of trouble.
