Chelsea cannot fill our yesterday national stadium. majority of SG football fans support Man Utd and Liverpool followed by Arsenal and Tottenham Hostpur distant third and fourth. i remember many years ago Tottenham came to Singapore, stadium only half full. only Man Utd and Liverpool can get 40K stadium crowd.

The clubs are not stupid. When they go on tour, they will go with other big clubs to ensure good attendance. We must have a decent stadium first before these big clubs will consider coming. Otherwise, Sinkie football fans can always travel to Mudlaysia, Thailand, HK to watch their fav teams and go for a holiday at the same time.

Because Football is not our national sports, but ping pong is.
While we don't even qualify for the final round of Asian qualifiers for Olympics (or World Cup), we are certainly in good position to get a medal for table tennis at the Olympics.

The truth is, Matland and Indo land paid good money for these performing clubs just to earn extra cash in their off-seasons, why should we do the same? Look at the results of Arsenal at Malaysia and HK, I think they are there mainly to show up. To throw away money to these teams in such manner are really downright stupid.

There was a huge debate in PRC about they paying sky-high fee to Real Madrid to play in a half-hearted match and the team flew off hours after the game ended. The money would be better spent on improving training facilities.
