Why local hawker aunty uncle like to give blackface when ordering food from them?

Is been many yrs, the local hawkers and stall helpers never seem to improve on their service..only when more PRC taking up in the service job then i start to see improvement, The chinese worker always smile and never show a sign of impatience if you asked them for extra chilly and is generous in the food serving . When ordering from local, mostly the decedent of southern china farmers, they were not service oriented like uncle owing them money:oIo:

Go fuck yourself la. PRC service staff equally or worse in their services. Well for one, they can't understand how to take orders in simple English. Local auntie uncle hawkers no problem in this area.

I totally disagree.
Based on my personal experience, most hawkers will not be friendly with you on your first visit, but the local ones will generally be very friendly if you are a regular customer. On the other hand, I find that the prc hawkers will still be as cold even if you are a regular customer. Perhaps they are friendly to only prcs, I don't know.

I frequent a la mian and dunpling stall in a food court whereby the local lady hawker always gives me an extra dumpling as I patronize her stall often. Other local hawkers always have a smile or a friendly word if I always patronize their stall. The prc hawkers act as if they don't recognise me, or perhaps they really don't.

This is just my personal experience, don't know which stalls you have been patronizing.

Whether hawker centre or restaurant, I find it funny. We go there to buy food (eat) or to buy service (smile)? S$3 per dish is common in Singapore. S$3 is only a token tip in the US for service (the real food cost another S$10 or something). You want that? McDonald and other fast food restaurants thrive on that because people are fedup (or broke) with paying for service that they can't eat. They want to pay for and eat food only.

There is only one food center I know from personal experience which has good and polite service and that's Whampoa Food market. It really surprised me: Many stall holders will ask you to take a seat and bring the food to your table!! They actually smile and say thank you and quite happily give you more chillis if you want it and not put on a black face when u have to give them a big $ note. Try the chicken rice guy (facing carpark), the nasi lemak stall, the fruit juice and hokkien mee stall too!. These are the ones I have tried. I thought it was a fluke thing when i went there first time. But with each visit the same good service previals. Unbelievable! For a moment i forgot i was in Singapore (where am I, i am wondering and what have these people been smokin?? Is it the twilight zone?).

Have any brothers out there have had the same experience at this food center?

It's very easy to get a good service smile for a S$3 dish. Pay with a S$10 note and say keep the change.

Therein lies the paradox. TS finds PRCS better servers which obviously gives more weightage to MM Lee's speech that prcs are more driven than sinkees and should replace them, yet these sinkee hawkers are sinkees just like TS and TS might probably lose out to prcs in future in his job.

Actually sinkees don't like sinkees isn't this apparent that's why the foreigners don't really get that much resentment.
