It is an insult to Bruce Lee to be compared with Jackie Chan. Jackie will always play <s>second</s> third fiddle to Hong Jing Bao. :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elaine_Ng_Yi-Lei

Elaine Ng born on September 23, 1972 (sometimes credited as Elaine Wu) is an actress and was the winner of Miss Asia 1990.

She announced that she was pregnant in 1999, and disclosed the affair with Jackie Chan after public speculations. Soon afterwards, Jackie Chan responded by admitting he had "only committed a fault that every single man in the world commits". She gave birth to a daughter, Etta Ng Chok Lam, on November 19, 1999. However, Elaine decided she would take care of her daughter without Jackie Chan.[SUP][4]

Let's not forget that in the movie blockbuster "Enter The Dragon" (first picture), Jackie was a canafe. :D

My Japanese ex-GF was a big fan of Jackie Chan, especially after that Mitsubishi-sponsored racing-car movie 霹雳火。I told her that was nothing. Jackie Chan couldn't achieve in 50 movies what Bruce Lee achieved in 5 movies. I bought her a set of the 5 Bruce Lee movies. She watched them all marathon eyes glued to TV at one go. She agreed, yes Bruce Lee was much better than Jackie Chan and her favourite was Way Of The Dragon versus Chuck Norris scene. But she felt uncomfortable with Fist Of Fury, thinking Bruce Lee insulted Japanese. That wasn't what her Japanese history textbooks said about that era.

What could I say except, anata, let's forget it, just movies for entertainment and let's go out for supper, then come back to bed.

Agree. Bruce Lee is in a complete league of his own. Jackie Chan is a zillion miles away. And there's a fundamental reason why. Bruce Lee was a real martial arts exponent. He invented a very special form of martial art based on Wing Chunand owned a number of martial arts schools iin the US, of which many famous Hollywood names were among his students. Bruce Lee took part in real martial arts tournaments all over USA and won each one of them. What his opponents feared most about him was his ability to deliver short but quick punches at very near distance (he demonstrated how effective this would be fighting in a lift, a small confined space. He did push-ups with one finger that was captured on film.

Jackie Chan on the other hand was not a martial artist. He was in an acrobatic troupe that provides small bit actors to Cantonese Operas mainly and later third rate movies, you know, those that do some stunts like somersaults etc. Bruce Lee can really fight and kill. All Jackie Chan can do is to tumble here tumble there. His lucky break was when he was casted in a movie Dragon Fist and Snake something. The director Lo Wei knowing that Jackie does not have a real martial art base, casted him as a clown of which none of his fighting involves real martial art, but acrobatic moves. That's why Jackie Chan famous movies are all action comedies because he can't really fight.

So as someone else had mentioned earlier, how to compare him with Bruce Lee. Not in a million years!

Agree, Bruce Lee is a martial artist, Jackie Chan is a stunman.

Bruce Lee my idol:o Because of him, I train in chest deep sea water:)

Freedalas is right. Jackie Chan is just a stuntman who got lucky. The real Chinese martial artists are Bruce Lee, Sammo Hung, Yuan Hua, Yuan Piao etc.

Bruce Lee movies are boring to watch. I love Jackie Chan movies, great stunts he performed.

Bruce Lee is a martial artist, Jackie Chan an entertainer. Cannot compare one.

I can understand why the uncles here all love Bruce Lee as my old man likes him too. LOL!

Can't disagree with you too, if you like stunt entertainment.

All Bruce Lee movies were rated B in uncensored originals with minor flashes of nudities. In Singapore, of course these minor scenes were censored off. I've wondered why he did that and my best guess was, the early 1970s was the peak of the liberalisation era and he played along with it to make himself look less conservative.

Bruce lee is actually pretty handsome especially if he combs his hair. I noticed he actually combed his hair for just a few scenes in movies and i suppose not much of the time in real life either. Most of the time his hair was unkempt cos he's a fighter not a singer or dancer or an actor that uses his looks but his fighting skills but seriously if you see him with his combed hair he can match andy lau in the looks department.

Sammo Hung (Hong Jin Bao) then went on to appear in "Game of Death" movie. Watch in 720p.

That was just a cameo role. Bruce Lee actually appointed Sammo Hung to be martial arts director (not for Bruce Lee himself of course, but the rest of the untrained actors) in Game Of Death. The premature death of Bruce Lee led to a vacuum that was filled by the Yuan brothers, Sammo Hung and by the luck of lucks, Jackie Chan.
