Boycotting international named brands is a step forward in restoring a prosperous and widely shared shopkeeper economy. Dump the ad hype and buy from local merchants.

breadtalk cross-subsidizes their soon-to-be expired loaves over to its next-door neighbor, toastbox, for kaya toast, thereby reducing wastage. not a bad model. :p

I agree, first and last time. Pointing out Breadtalk is franchisee of a few brands. I don't support Breadtalk at all.

I love this bakery at bk 95 aljunied crescent. I remember when young time 1 red bean bun cost 25 cents. Now it is selling at $1.20. I still make it a point to buy some red bean bun whenever I am around this area.

SwissBake breads (>day old) are discounted in supermarkets like Cold Storage. Also some pastry shops (even in hotels) have "happy hours" late in the day for cakes and stuff. Else, think some volunteer groups bring same to needy or nursing homes.

Back to franchising, is Yakun also franschised? Not same with diff outlets.

Technically, you may be a 'boss' instantly, but there'll be plenty of restrictions and inconveniences forced upon you. In other words, you're that corporation's bitch.
