Why can't they convert the golf courses into parks for public to enjoy??

Let them have them to build houses, a golf course is not nature anyway. I would rather have them open pristine forests to the public for recreational use. Most of such places are currently exclusive to the military.

Golf participation is not that low, the only reason why is it not better is simply because there aren't many places to play in Singapore, and the cost of golf membership here is rather prohibitive. That is why many golfers go to JB, Batam and Bintan for their golf fix.

We still need some golfing facilities here. Every now and then I have to host golf outings for oversea clients and it's quite ridiculous to have my guests come all the way here, only to be whisked off to JB / Batam / Bintan for business golf - its a logistical nightmare for me frankly. If we are to be a good place for business, a hub for financial services, there must be enough of good quality golf courses which are open to outsiders here (e.g. public courses like Marina Bay).

Yeah, that's rite. Be a good host and bring them to places like ktv and pubs where being crowded and crushed left right centre by human flesh is not a problem!!

Actually since the gahment practically cut down all our nature reserves and greenery so that the public have less and less nature to enjoy themselves. if they rather destroy bt brown cementery where our great forefathers who built this land lie for some roads rather than destroy SICC, u think they would sacrifice golf courses for parks? BCC being destroyed NOT for the road actually. it's for the land bank that can be turned into $$$ for the gahmen. they don't even care or are grateful. and respect those famous forefathers whose names now grace many of the roads in singapore.

I hate camping.y go to a.place without indoor plumbing? Only non locals n gals will.do.stuff like tat as guys would have done enough field camps n wont want to do it again.

People go golf course and club to rub shoulder with who's who's of this world and to get rich together.

It is better than a park for people to go there to get a blow job and sitting there wonder why they are poor or jobless.

Look at east coast park; there are tents everywhere. I hate going there; and have since stop going totally.
