Don't know about that, don't live in Bishan. For hawker centres, the tables don't belong to any single entity and there is no boss who can make decision to reserve the tables.

Just sit down put the bottle and tissue one side. If anyone claim the table is belong to them . Fuck them upside down.
That what I have been doing. So far no one dare talk to me about table reserved by them using tissue and I sitting in their table. I always waiting someday someone dare to talk to me ask me to leave their table.
All just come back sit one side of the table keep quite and eat.

This practices usually done by zhe char stalls, they would put clean plates all over the place to give apperance the tables are reserved. But most don't dare to put up their "reserved" signs. The kopi-kias rather stay away and rather let the patrons fight. I would just sit at one of the corner table and call their bluff. One in Gullimard road even have the cheek to tell me the double yellow line is choped for patrons with cars. The cooks would stare at you while brandishing their choppers pretending to chop food. Criminal intimidation will earn them nice strokes of rotan. NEA will also swat them like flies.
