PAP MPs are like nuisance tissue paper packets (creating social damage and public inconvenience).

The PAP EXCO and Ministerial Cabinet is just using them as 'tissue paper' packets to reserve/ occupy parliament seats so that they will not be filled by opposition MPs who may ask difficult questions or propose solutions which may involve increased taxes upon the rich. E.g. estate duties, progressive property taxes up to the same as income tax limits (22% of annual value as should be the case for top tier residential properties, some worth up to S$141 million each according to latest residential property transaction prices), medishield-life rebates so that the healthcare system is more meritocratic rather than the poor subsidise the healthcare costs for the rich, or even overall increased top tier income taxes.
In fact, the PAP invented the fraudulent GRC system so that PAP MPs may become easily dispensable if not better controlled. Before GRC was implemented, any MP sacked for disobeying the party whip would trigger a by election, which could well mean a 2nd party political defeat should the sacked MP be re-elected vz by-election as an independent candidate or better still, as a representative of another political party instead. As for minority representation, this could have been ENSURED through NCMP system whereby a minimum number of minority MP would make up the minimum quota for parliament to begin operation. In fact, even Imams and religious leaders could be represented vz the NMP system, so there is certainly no lack. However according to the GRC system, the need for minority MP ends the moment the election results are declared and worse, a GRC can still function even if all but one MP remains : thus effectively making both MPs and minority representation totally dispensable the moment election results are announced and also PAP MPs under tight rein if not physical and interlectual bondage to the PAP executive committee policy decisions/rule.
In this sense, Singapore is more adkin to being a monarchy and the MPs just eunuchs in service of their King.
Or in local parlance, MPs are just tissue paper packets, used to deprive other valid users of the work area or the space that they need to grow.
PAP= Pests and Parasites (monarchy) party, these guys need to be driven out of parliament for Singapore to survive.
