SINGAPORE: A 49-year-old man has become the latest person infected with the H1N1 flu virus to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The man, who has multiple health problems such as diabetes and hypertension, had sought treatment at the Changi General Hospital (CGH) on Thursday morning after four days of flu-like symptoms, including severe pneumonia.
He is currently in critical condition.
Another three patients who were earlier admitted to the ICU are recovering.
The condition of a 51-year-old male patient with multiple health conditions admitted to CGH on July 8 has stabilised.
He was moved out of the ICU on Thursday. If he continues to recover, he can expect to be discharged soon.
The other two female patients at the Singapore General Hospital and KK Women's and Children's Hospital are still in the ICU. Both are in stable condition.
Currently, there are 36 confirmed H1N1 cases in hospitals.
