Happens all over the world. First impression very important. No second chance to create first impression. If really rich, not so bad. Not rich but pretend to be rich, better jaga.
Actually you don't need to be rich to start conning people. Con men do not start rich, they simply need to start with no integrity but plenty of charm and a gift of the gab. Yes, they also make the initial investment of looking rich in their appearance either from savings or on credit. Then when the gullible fall prey to them, that's when they start to make their money. Classic examples are all those self-proclaimed motivational gurus and life coaches.
Those who become rich through honest hard work don't give a shit about what others think of their dressing etc.
