He has the maturity to take the baton. I remember in the last election, he told reporters that his family was highly supportive of him to join WP. I saw him doing the walkabout with the MPs most of the time and from door-to-door. He really got the energy at his age. There is no better one than him and because of his age, he is likely to be respected and obeyed by the younger ones? On the other hand, there is no need for Yee and Gerald to contest since their NCMP seat is secured. Singapore need additional opposition mouth in the parliament, not less. I worried if WP give up one NCMP seat to contest in HOugang for MP post, if they lose in drastic situation (which is unlikely), than parliament will only have 6 WP mouths instead of the original 8. This will make the mockery out of the watershed election.
My personal choice was KCY until I was shown the bigger picture and agreed with it. PEH was in the WP Hougang committee for years before being posted to East Coast to plug manpower shortage there as you all know what happened after CTL resigned. The whole WP EC team was practically left with ET alone then. Bringing PEH back to Hougang would be no loss to the much stronger EC team now, especially with the view to GG anchoring and YJJ can be plugged in conveniently and naturally if PAP gerrymanders between EC and Joo Chiat. KCY and LLL have returned good results too and can be kept for deployment pending next gerrymandering.
Anyone in the list but Gerald Giam, I don't think he is fit be an MP. Of the list of names, I think Png Eng Huat is the best choice for MP for Hougang, I think he will serve the Hougang residents well.
