SINGAPORE: Diamonds are not your average street giveaways, but a local jeweller has proven it can be everyone's best friend.

Goldheart Jewellery is distributing 360 diamonds worth S$50,000 over a period of three days, starting Friday.

Queues started forming outside its Orchard Road branch as early as 7am on the first day.

For those who found it hard to believe, there were staff members on hand to verify that each 0.1 carat diamond was real.

Goldheart is sharing the sparkle this way to commemorate its 36th anniversary.
