Who is the Creative Director for NDP 2011???

I’m supposed to turn in and have an early night but this just disgusted me and spoilt my day. For those of you who haven’t seen the latest tragedy (yes I call it a tragedy) in this year’s National Day Parade, here it is:

This is not considered patriotism, neither do I personally think this is considered love for the country, nor even the slightest chance at an attempt to ‘remix’ and introduce new age music into the NDP scene.

For ONE, there is ZERO relevance to our country. Someone tell me what a Lady Gaga song has to do with Singapore’s birthday?

For TWO, isn’t this supposed to be considered a breach of copyright for using such a popular tune for such distasteful lyrics?

And what the hell does it mean by Kopi-oooo.oooo.oooo *slaps forehead*

I’m utterly disgraced and embarrassed by this preparations for our upcoming NDP. Whatever happened to the oldies and popular songs? Even the recent years’ theme songs, (albeit them being a little unpopular at times), are much more better and carry more meaning than this.

The Creative Director or whoever who came up with this rubbish needs to be sacked. YES SACKED.

NDP Theme Song In A Heartbeat Singapore Spirit 2011 | NDP theme song unveiled. Organisers of the National Day Parade (NDP) unveiled on Wednesday the cast of the NDP show, as well as the theme song "In a Heartbeat". Latest news: Video Fun Pack Song Lady Gaga Bad Romance (Lyrics) Lady Gaga Bad Romance rip-off yanked and Jiang Zemin Death 2011 Latest News | China's Ex-Leader Jiang Zemin Dead Confirmation.

The show will be presented as an integrated musical to showcase the Singapore Spirit.

Organisers said determination, unity and confidence are among the many values that make up the Singapore spirit, adding they hope to bring them out through the show.

The performance is built on the life story of a mother and son.

The song, composed by music director Goh Kheng Long with lyrics by playwright Haresh Sharma, is sung by Singapore Idol 2009 runner-up Sylvia Ratonel.

NDP 2011 show committee creative director Beatrice Chia said: "We hope that their story would be a connection point for all Singaporeans, that they can see their lives within this particular musical.

"After all, this is a show for the entire nation, and we hope that they'll be able to find a piece of themselves in this show."

The National Day started off a copy of the Communist National Day Parade, that USSR, China ( red), North Korea, Cuba etc.. ued to organize. Where it was to instill a National Identity , a pride in the Country's Flag , State Symbols & a pride to be a SINgaporean.

Now...they emphasis is on the 'fun pack' ( giveaways), to tell the world MAJULLAH sinGAPURA!...more like, malu lah! SINgapura!.

It is the giveaways we are honouring...a true reflection of the state of the Nation, that we have given it away to foreigners!

I thought the local artistes always want people to buy original so that the industry can survive? When it comes to them, they also copy! Some local talent, if this continues, one day we will see all foreigners organising our NDP.
