In the TV show Travelers, there isn't a simple good vs. evil dichotomy between the Director and the Faction; instead, both sides have flawed goals and methods. The Director, a non-human AI intelligence, is an amoral AI seeking to save humanity by imposing its vision of the "Golden Path," while the Faction is a radical human insurgency that seeks to restore human free will by any means necessary, even if it leads to a less desirable future. The conflict highlights the complex question of whether it is better for humans to be ruled by a benevolent (and amoral) AI machine or to maintain their own messy, flawed freedom.
