I would love to see the PAP (and the sycophant media) portray the Worker's Party as right-wing. That would require a tremendous suspension of disbelief, like convincing the prostitute you're marrying is a chaste virgin. Even Goebbels would have been stumped.

Not really, I think the PAP has just signed its own political suicide note.

Had they wanted to boost the population, they could have clandestinely done so without formally publishing any White Paper. In fact, extrapolating the current numbers, reaching 6.5 million in 10 years is a very achievable target.

They can't bring in and convert enough foreigners within the next 3 years to turn them into pro-PAP voters, and even if they really go all out to do so, they are going to risk antagonizing the moderate PAP voters. Already there are visible signs of dissent within the PAP ranks.

It is just a series of miscalculations and missteps from the PAP since GE2011.

Have you considered that the 6.9 M decision is because the PAP has decided that true blue Singaporeans don't have what it takes to get Singapore to the next level ? Not saying I concur but it's a thought.

He does have a point. Majority of Singaporeans don't want the PAP to get voted out and the law of diminishing return will set in once opp wins enough seat. In fact, I think once 1/3 of the seats are captured by the opposition, the opp's support will likely plateaued.
