<!-- story content : start --> Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew met former Chinese president Jiang Zemin last Thursday at the latter's hometown in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province.
The private meeting was at the invitation of Mr Jiang, who hosted Mr Lee to dinner before accompanying him on a tour of the scenic Shouxi Lake.
The two leaders, who have forged a close friendship over the years, last met four years ago.
Mr Jiang, 83, retired in 2003 after serving two consecutive five-year terms as China's president.
