Alan Tam was/is a household name amongst Chinese communities worldwide.....only fucking banana Sam pretend not to heard of him.

The Chinese singers and their communities are not important because they make no impact on the music scene worldwide.

The singers who define the music world are all from Ang Moh countries. The chinks love the Ang Moh singers but the Ang Mohs have never heard of the chink singers.

However the fact is Alan Tam is King of Canto pop in the 80s and Sun Ho is just a singer who depends on funding and support from CHC followers to be "popular".

Sun Ho has the support of the lord almighty and that's all that matters in the grand scheme of things.

One thing I admire about Alan was the fact he did not bothered to try to pander to the PRC market by learning mandarin......though he did sing some of his songs later in mandrain (probably due to contractual obligations).....his mandrain was atrocious and it's clear he did not make much of an effort.
