They are using the QBZ95 carbine (a variant of the assault rifle).
It doesn't matter if there are blanks; how they train is how they'll fight. If this is how they move in practice, they'll do the same during ops; that's when the accidents will happen.
The UZI has many disadvantages, e.g. weight, accuracy and controllability.
