I've got this teak table which I use as a dinning table. It's a nice table from Indonesia with intricate carving on the top & sides & even though I got it 10+ years ago the design is timeless. People have asked me where I got the table. I remember getting it from a shop along Bukit Timah, just after 6th Avenue.

I haven't been in that area in years. Does anyone know if the furniture shop is still there:confused:

Any places to recommend for teak furniture:confused:

used to have this company called Wihardja and they custom make furniture too

I'm sure if you googled you'd come across a couple of places in Singapore that retail teak furniture. I sometimes go to Liang Court and there is one called Frangipani on the second level. There are also furniture shops in Katong along East Coast Road on th ground level. Teak is a very hardy wood that'll last a long time, and somewhat water tolerant too, good investment.

Cheers!

Yes I am beginning to appreciate my teak furniture. When I 1st bought them I didn't realise how good they were until I started getting compliments from others about the furniture.:o
I'm asking because I know someone who wants to furnish their new home with teak furniture.

Nowadays there are alot of cheaply made products that don't last.

Go helping hand at 819 upper serangoon road s534678. Free parking and plenty of products on display. Machiam run by some church NGO to rehap ex convicts. The ex con dorm at the place and work for either the teak furniture workshop or the transport service. Other than doing furniture delivery, they also do house moving.

I was wondering about the strange name "Helping Hands". I'll pass the listof companies people recommend to the person who is looking for the teak furniture. I'm surprised there is a healthy number of stores selling teak furniture. I thought that teak was in short supply.
