where is your favourite mc donald outlet?

Queensway Shopping Centre is best remembered for our schoolday footballing gears, - jerseys and boots etc. We could order custom jerseys for a whole team then, not like now football jerseys are fashion wears.

For me, best remembered for buying my first Yonex Carbonex racquet, Hara, Lee and Texwood jeans, later I would buy all my Casio watches at Morning Star watch stall at the ground floor. (Used to take 192 from Commonwealth Avenue there)

My neighborhood was quite far from Queensway. We went there for football equipment only. Casio watches could be bought from Lucky Plaza or Far East Plaza. :D

Dawson is very near to Queensway. My neighborhood was in Bendemeer-Boon Keng area. Funny you mention Dawson. Not a well-known area for those not in Bukit Merah-Queenstown area. But I happen to know it since I had a GF who lived there, one of the old 4-storey flats. Her father was arrested for affray. She and her mother came to bail him. He was just drunk and when sober, quite a reasonable man and I was prepared let him off with a warning. But official procedure, the bail had to be for 14 days before official and total discharge from charge. His daughter and mother were very worried and kept calling me for update. So I started dating her out to reassure there'd be no problem. Her mother even invited me to their home for homecooked dinner. That was how I know where's Dawson.

Queensway's octagonal design is a maze for all newbies....for those who hang there we know exactly which staircase leads to which shops.

Morningstar not to be sniff at...they stock tag heuers as well....I got my first one there in 1986. Latest designs of ray bans can be bought from the spectacle shops there.
Jay Gee had a store there and penisular selling Levi's....this was before they became big.
And MS Gills and sons which sold adidas goods at the best price in Singapore because they were the agents....

Yes but the entire Dawson had been transformed now. Now Stirling still have but not Dawson. My best friend in primary school lived in one of the units. Hey Narong do you remember there is a very very small circle smack in the middle of Dawson/Strathmore Roads so funny right?

Oh it started way before me. Police occupational hazards come with occupational privileges. :D
But whatever powers or privileges must be managed discretely.

You survived anyway, good for you Ramseth. No beer tonight? I had dinner at a tze-char store (Kola) at 36 Sin Ming Drive tonight, had 10 dishes for 7 family members and 4 bottles of Carlsberg only $156. Everyone enjoyed the food very much, very delicious.

Lol my first 'expensive' watch.....compared prices everywhere and best price was there after bargaining...still remembered it was princely sum of $650....a pair of ray ban aviators only $48 then after discount (quoted $55).

The circle is kinda built pretty high and I always think that cars will crash into it because its such a small circle.

Aha the market "chap-si-lau-par-sat" love the lor-ark (braised duck) rice/noodles which later moved to Margaret Drive Food Centre. Oh oh do you remember the guy who fried oyster or is it carrot cake there? Short crew cut, dark fella, face look fierce and body have tattoo when I young I always scared of his look because he look like big gangster but he is a very nice guy la.

Ya next row to that is this food centre like canteen. Opens night time only. Very good food and value for money.

Coming back in bits and pieces.
Remembered there was a provision shop next to a bicycle shop inside the carpark of Stratmore ave.

Writing in the other thread remembered tanglin halt had the big gasworks there ala kallang's fire city. Besides playing in the canals during low tide also remembered playing along the railway tracks over the other side of Queenstown.

The church opposite 'ang chia' HQ and next to police station had a mini zoo inside where they had many animals including a goat.

Ya ya ya the big light green coloured gas tank is like an icon in that area near to Van Hounten factory and I believe the Telefunken factory is also close by. I didn't know about the mini-zoo.
