The hero worship of OTC is getting insane. It's born out of fear of PAP rather than the "heroics" of OTC. People are so fearful of PAP that if anyone in good stature makes an attempt to hurl a stone at the regime, he will be elevated to the status of hero.

Did OTC fight for freedom of speech ? Did OTC voice out against rewarding our ministers with astronomical salaries ?

It reminds me of the Moses and the sacred cow. The Jews were so desperate for a god that that in the prolonged absence of Moses they created a god from metal. It's not as if they really believed that the sacred cow could perform wonders; they just needed "some figure" to fill their void.
