What's with the fucking anti TJS posts?

Have seen a lot of anti TJS posts lately, mostly in the line "fuck TJS, you screwed up TCB chances of winning".

If these people are true anti-PAP supporters, maybe they accidentally banged their head on the wall.

Ok, so let's say TCB won and TT did not, so fucking what? Wake the hell up people... TCB is a PAPpy like TT. TCB already said he will be Prataman Version 2 - see no evil, hear no evil, don't give a fuck. So what makes TCB better than Prataman? If you are a true anti-PAP supporter, you'll realize that the only option is TJS and TKL, and with TKL and his alleged attitude problem and bastard character (whether true or not nobody knows), TJS is the only viable option.

Seriously... get some fucking perspective before you guys starting blaming people left, right and center. If you want to cast blame, should target the arrogant prick TKL, whose votes would have gone to TJS if he was not there, and those idiot spoilt voters.

No one knew the votes share for TT:TCB:TJS would be 35:35:25. With hindsight, people deciding between TCB and TJS would have voted for the former.

There was no opinion poll etc. Given the limited information we had, I do not regret voting for TJS - who will be a more proactive president.

It is the myopic vision at work and the PAP 888s are capitalising on it and happily riding on it. If this sort of sentiment that this "anti-PAP supporters" adopt take root and becomes widespread, it will simply discourage those "heavyweight" oppositionists waiting in the wings from coming onboard.

This would be a pity as most of these oppositionists are the ones who can well afford not to come on board in the first place and can afford to emigrate if things turn bad.

The losers will be these "anti-PAP supporters" Singaporeans struggling with their everyday lives who, ironically, need these "heavyweights" waiting in the wings to step up and come onboard to help better their lives.

Bro, no point blaming anyone. If none of the candidates can persuade the required numbers to cross the line or even the 2% vote spoilers for a convincing win, then they only have themselves to blame.

If the choice is between TT and TCB, then I'm pretty happy to have TT be the President. TCB is a pretender, and if TCB is elected, we are neither here nor there. We will be told that we have a 'fighter' who will not be afraid to confront the government, but the 'fighter' himself has made it clear that he will not be bothered with day to day policies nor will he be interested in bread and butter issues of ordinary Singaporeans.

With TT as President, at least we know we are screwed and our awareness is heightened. TT will continue to help brew the dissatisfaction until the next GE. With TCB, many might end up with a false sense of democracy.

I would like to add to your comment.

If TSJ didn't contest, where would his 529K votes go to? Probably TKL because they are mostly hard-core anti-PAP, and wouldn't vote for TCB. These25% would never support anyone from the PAP. If thats the case, TKL would have gotten 29.95% of the vote. Outcome would be the same.

If TKL didn't contest, where would his 103.9K votes go to? I believe TKL attracts more of the moderate voters that will never vote for TSJ as they see him as too "confrontational". Hence a sizeable proportion of his votes will probably got to TCB. TCB lose by only +7K, you do your maths.

If TCB didn't contest, the gain would definitely go to TT.

I absolutely agree with you. We should not be disheartened by this loss, take it as lesson learnt and move on. There are many more battles to be fought in the future, and the next being GE 2016/17.

In any election, he will bring down the opposition vote count. The riots in the 1950 n 1960s have made many people view opposition who are confrontational as trouble makers. that 25% extreme votes will not win anything in first past the post system. TCB got both PAP and Oppo votes and he almost defeated TT.

if there are any opinion poll or clear signs before polling day that TCB and TT are neck on neck in the race, I might vote for TCB instead of TSJ.

no opinion poll make tactical voting very difficult in less obvious circumstances.
