munching is really a sign of nervousness and no confidence. can be very irritating. you see those soccer coaches munching away and then they get choked when their players miss a goal!!!! this munching should be discouraged...a damned nuisance and it is also a sign of rudeness...

some people munch before they commit a crime or getting ready to whack someone....

I never like sweets or candies. However I remember Hacks. Primary 5 (hang around with the repeat students), picked up smoking and sucked on Hacks to mask the tobacco smell before going home for dinner. Dad never suspected, but some classmates fucking snitched on the group of us and the principal got us.

I like them. Used to be 3 for 10 cents in the early 1980s, last time I checked they're now selling at 3 for 20 cents. Talk about hyper inflation.

Other minty candies:

1) Vicks cough drops (triangular shape, I loved mint, lemon and cherry flavours)
2) Polo
3) Mentos
4) Tic Tac
5) Hudson's cough drops.
6) Valda
7) Lakerol
8) Strepsil (used to be in vacuum sealed metal cans, you need to insert a coin into a groove at the corner to lift the lid off)
9) Ricola (soft and hard versions, watch out for aspartame in them)
10) HALL's

Special mention goes to Rowntree's Fruit Gum and Fruit Pastiles. I think they're called Fruitips now.

There's another candy I'm trying to find but to no avail: Vitamin C-100 by Pokka.
These have a super sour (ascorbic acid) core that numbs the tongue.

I think they had stopped making the candy, and Pokka now has some lemonade beverages that're infused with Vitamin C.
