Struggling in a combat unit where to get help
RantHi, I am currently serving in a combat unit (won’t say which one as I am not comfortable with sharing). I struggle a lot with the daily tasks and trainings as there are a lot of things to remember while at the same time being very physically challenging.
Also whenever I see my friends from other units getting privileges like daily nights out, early book out while I have to burn my weekends doing duties makes me feel very frustrated and resentful as I am already staying in camp 5 days a week. I was wondering if there were any avenues (eg. Counselling, pcc) where I can seek help and get excuses to make my NS experience less painful as I really do not think I can continue on like this for the remaining 400+ days to ORD. It does not help that whenever I make a mistake, I get screamed at and my precious time outside of camp gets threatened with punishments such as late book out or confinement. Furthermore every night I still have to see some the superiors who scolded me during the day as our bunks are on the same floor.
I would really appreciate some advice on how to overcome this issue as I am afraid seeking help via means such as IMH may leave a permanent record and affect my opportunities for jobs and scholarships in the future (esp those from government sector.)
Sorry for the long rant
