For me, it goes like this.

Parents and parents in law: $500 each person
Grandparents: $200 each person

Nieces and nephews: $20 each.

Others: $10 each.

When I was a kid, all the ang pao money would be used to play blackjack. On some years, I'll end up with nothing :(

Yes. But I know there are some who gave their parents $10 ang paos and they are high income earners.
