The word "rendition" is used in the context interpretation of music or drama. I'm looking for a word that can be used in the context of paintings and artworks.
For example, Leonardo da Vinci had his own interpretation of "The Last Supper" when he was commissioned to paint.
Instead of the word "interpretation", can any one think of a more fitting term ? Just as the word rendition is used to describe music.
Thanks.
