A very good article in TRE:

http://www.tremeritus.com/2012/02/10/what-irks-me-most-about-the-yaw-fiasco/

What irks me the most in the Yaw fiasco is not Yaw’s alleged affair but, but the state of denial that opposition (or should I say anti-PAP) supporters are in, and the double standards that apply.

1. I dislike PAP so I have to like WP = All WP members are saints = WP members can do no wrong = I disbelieve any wrongdoing by WP members?

2. Or set a ridiculous high bar for evidence (Doctor’s testimonial? Which doctor in his right mind is going to leak this and get permanently struck off?).

3. Suddenly internet rumours have no basis and should be completely discounted?

4. Suddenly, one’s personal life does not matter for a public figure?

5. Suddenly a public figure’s morality is no longer an issue?

6. Suddenly because having an affair is not illegal, therefore it is allright for your wife to be sleeping around and carrying someone else’s baby?

7. Suddenly it is ok to abort the baby (quietly at Kowa?) and pretend that nothing has happened, taking a young innocent life?

So it’s basically ok to have an affair so long it does not affect your work? Come on, I don’t care if anyone has affair or not but if you want to be a politician, you have to be able to stand on moral high ground.

So what’s next? Imagine majority of politicians have affair and since it does not affect their work, they campaign and passed law on polygamy and the society have to accept it? So if your sisters, your daughters are mistress to somebody, no problem at all to you? Oh come on…

What has this world come to (or am I too idealistic)? It’s ok to have an affair as long as you’re not caught and you’re capable. Am I supposed to teach my son that?

The double standards are mind-boggling. The lack of insight even more so.

Hmmm.... seems like your usual detractors from the WP internet troll wing have decided to leave u alone as their dementia had suddenly cured. Or maybe they're too busy sending their children for paternity tests. :D

Please let the TRE poster know that point 6 with reference to YSL was wrongly illustrated. It is should: Suddenly because having an affair is not illegal, therefore it is alright for you to sleep around with your friend's wife and let her carry your baby.

The most amusing one I heard was actually a colleague blaming PAP for the Yaw incident. Somehow the women must be planned by PAP. Yeah did anyone bother to investigate if Angie is PAP mole or not

What? Cannot meh? Maybe he is a Chelsea fan and his favourite footballers are John Terry mah. And in his defence, Ryan Giggs still one up both of them, sleep with Brother's wife.

For WP members of course can lah. That was actually what they meant when they say "service is a privilege". Service other people's (especially fellow member's) wives lah...:D

For once I agree with GMS and TRE. It's not a matter of morality or celebrity. Many public figures do have affairs and shield themselves as private affairs. However, an MP is a law maker, a policy maker and public representative, not just any other public figure like a footballer, singer or actor.

I think it best to let his party decide whether he should stand again or not, whether by way of a snap BE or wait till the next GE. If his party decides to let him stand again, then let the electorate decide whether he should be voted in again or voter given the new lights shed on his character.

You will be watched very closely from now on, even where you eat, drink, or pee!:D even if it is private!
