9) Chee will be credited for getting a concession from the PAP govt for allowing public speaking at Hong Lim Park.

10) He will again be credited for getting yet another concession from the PAP govt for allowing public protest at, again, Hong Lim Park.

11) He has taken on the judiciary to task and expose its biassed handling of the trial when ruling party's politicians were the plaintiffs.

12) He has raised many awkward questions which are relevant to S'poreans to PAP govt such as the handling of S'pore reserves, transparency of governance etc

13) He has shown S'poreans that the civil service, the police in particular, has been utterly politicised to persecute opposition activists.

14) He has set up a website to provide a valuable alternative source of news to the public which is informative and educational

15) He has organised numerous public forums to let the public to participate in social and political issues

16) He has inspired many S'poreans with his indomitable spirit and leadership qualities

17) He is highly eloquent and articulate, possessing an excellent ability to communicate his ideas

18) Despite losing two parliamentary seats in a manipulated electoral process in a GE97, he continues to fight on doggedly

19) He has provided numerous policy discussion papers on his website for the public to actively take part

20) His vision to empower the people is slowly bearing fruits, with more people joining in his cause to demand their political and civil rights from the ruling party

21) He has penned several books to help S'poreans make informed opinions on political issues

22) he has fearlessly take on the PAP machinery and slowly dispelling the climate of fear that has been so entrenched in S'pore society

(Not only his doing but other doing. don't give him the award so easily)
11) He has taken on the judiciary to task and expose its biassed handling of the trial when ruling party's politicians were the plaintiffs.
(The public know that. They know that even before he was born. They want to know what he can make Singapore into, not simple charge and die)
12) He has raised many awkward questions which are relevant to S'poreans to PAP govt such as the handling of S'pore reserves, transparency of governance etc
(But provides no alternative what he would do)
13) He has shown S'poreans that the civil service, the police in particular, has been utterly politicised to persecute opposition activists.
(Wasting of resources)
14) He has set up a website to provide a valuable alternative source of news to the public which is informative and educational
(A marekt place where alternative views to those of the SDP are shun and place where expletitives are allowed. A place for ranting and raving but not planning. it is more a blog than a website. Even Xiaxue's blog is starting to look better)
15) He has organised numerous public forums to let the public to participate in social and political issues
(With no vision for Singapore's health sector, trade, foreign policy, economy, defence)
16) He has inspired many S'poreans with his indomitable spirit and leadership qualities
(What leadership? Allowing one foothold won by Ling to be lost the next? For having his party see votes and support drop?)
17) He is highly eloquent and articulate, possessing an excellent ability to communicate his ideas
(So are others like Alex Au, Tan Kin Lian. They provide not just critique but solutions to present problems; your Chee only thinks protesting and democracy is the way to go)
18) Despite losing two parliamentary seats in a manipulated electoral process in a GE97, he continues to fight on doggedly
(As if every failure is not is own fault. Is he that squekay clean and the victim every time?)
19) He has provided numerous policy discussion papers on his website for the public to actively take part
(With alternative views to that of the SDP shunned. it becomes a boat with no proper steering)
20) His vision to empower the people is slowly bearing fruits, with more people joining in his cause to demand their political and civil rights from the ruling party
(but only going for his food events--eg SDP party. Protests?--we see a famous few)
21) He has penned several books to help S'poreans make informed opinions on political issues
(Ok the books are good but not enough)
22) he has fearlessly take on the PAP machinery and slowly dispelling the climate of fear that has been so entrenched in S'pore society (Wasting hi energy when frutiful ideas on Singapore's various areas could have been planned

23) Chee has successfully brought international attention on the repressive laws and undemocratic ways of the PAP govt

24) He is effective in bringing change for a better S'pore by pushing for reforms to a political system that has been engineered to keep PAP in perpetual power

25) He and SDP have spoken out for S'poreans and are fully in touch with the ground

26) He has shown his dynamism, creativity and intellectual prowess by outwitting the PAP govt on many occasions

27) He is gradually building up his civil disobedience movement to effect reforms on the repressive political system

The first priority will be to reform the political system. When this is done, more talented people will be encouraged to step forward to serve S'pore, contribute ideas, thereby leading to more creative solutions to solve S'pore problems.

Will we ever get a political reform? How? The political system is engineered, highly manipulated. It's just a communist hiding behind the name of democracy.

It is even impossible to cast a vote for the opposition. Forget about reform unless there is a revolution.

PAP dog is your post meant to show your PAP bastards that you actually rebut chinkangkor's post?

What sort of fucking half-baked rebuttal is that?

You are such a pathetic moron running out of ideas muddling up your post intentionally

lest readers could read all the garbage you tried so hard putting together as a rebuttal!

PTHUI!!!

You can only rebut with swear words. I have already stated i am not a PAP dog. Go look at my other posts you uncouth person.

23) Chee has successfully brought international attention on the repressive laws and undemocratic ways of the PAP govt
(Onlt to a few NGOs with little power. For the time that the PAP has ruled Singapore, the UN and Western countries HAVE NOT outright criticised Singapore at all. This is in contrast to Zimbabwe, North Korea, Iraq and even Malaysia)
24) He is effective in bringing change for a better S'pore by pushing for reforms to a political system that has been engineered to keep PAP in perpetual power
(He has wasted his energy on this whne he could have gathered support through political ideas, not just saying democracy is good.)
25) He and SDP have spoken out for S'poreans and are fully in touch with the ground
(In touched with who? He nitpicks on the tinyest issue but hasn't shown what he may do in contrast to the PAP.)
26) He has shown his dynamism, creativity and intellectual prowess by outwitting the PAP govt on many occasions
(Several occasions only)
27) He is gradually building up his civil disobedience movement to effect reforms on the repressive political system
(But people do not see what he might do if he or his party members are in charge. It is easy to push down a leadership, but with out another plan in place, people would choose the more pareto optimal choice, which is still evil but there is a plan)

What we have is a corrupt, despotic neocon regime that is subservient to US imperialism whose preoccupation in this part of the world is to contain China.

Singapore's containing China? Not with the influx of PRC workers

Who should we have be subsurvient to then? Just ourselves?

Read my post again. It's about US imperialists' avowed policy to contain China and Lee Kuan Yew's subservience to his Yankee imperialist master to abet and aid in the whole process.

US--imperialistic that I agree. it has always been after WWII

Singapore--containing China--no. Singapore as much as it sticks to the US, wil stick to China and is increasingly pro China. Eg, support for the Olympics, FTa with them

I'm asking who then can we be subsurvient to? The Us, as much as we hate is a influential world power

To Alu862,

What are you talking about?

Me being a SDP supporter?

Let me make this clear to you,I am not a supporter of SDP or any other oppositions.but when it comes to voting,I'd vote the opposition(as a general whole) as compared to the pappies.lesser of the two evils.

And I am more critical(oppose rather) of the scum pap than with any other opposiotn.Reason??

fucking simple.the oppositions don't pay themselves millions to screw up the citizenry and make life harder for everyone.the scum pap have done nothing more then make their pockets fats.now which part of self serving did you not understand?

and if you start quoting the 1570000th propaganda on me,IT DON'T work.
feel good propaganda are worth nothing when it cannot fill the stomach.

if chee is going to be PM of singapore,so be it.at least i don't have to pay him millions to ruin the people's life and have every reason to blame him for such a predicament.

but when million dollars minishits are doing that and getting paid, you can be damn sure the people(at least the ones who ACTUALLY CALL A SPADE A SPADE)won't go down without protest.

and do note,i have avoided associating propaganda with shit,SHIT HAS SOME WORTH,feel good propaganda has none(beneath filth)

It is too simple to appeal to democracy without having a proper plan of what to do with the nation. Democracies are vibrant but not all have been successful, especially those with leaders who just preach the word but are weak in governing.

That goes for all political parties in Singapore

Aiyah, all of you can talk until the cows and bulls retire in the barn to fuck.

The undeniable fact is : His " Ci Sun Bark Jee" not good in Singapore. To alter His "Bark Jee", he needs to put on contact lens and burn off his spectacles with the rare "Bo Yang leaves". His fortune will then change.

It is too simple to say Chee has no plans and therefore is weak in governing.

Chee was the president of Psycology and a Police Inspector before he joined politics. He has demonstrated amply his leadership qualities and intellectual abilities, which are of more than ministerial calibre.

If PAP can select able people outside its party to stand for elections, Chee can do that as well.

Chee selected Ling to run as MP and that wasn't much of a successful example.

And who is able in the opposition?

The able men and women do not have to be in the opposition now. But once in power, Chee could hold by-elections to bring able people outside his party to run the government. Those without ministerial calibre can stay on as MPs.

You cannot hold a by election unless the MP vacates his/her seat due to death, corruption or voluntary resignation.

in any case, Chee should not be the PM if it is a new government. Neither should Low or Chiam.
