Thinking of getting a new computer for my small company. This is going for NT$29,000 including 4 years of on-site warranty. It's unbelievable as I really don't think Dell can provide such a service, but lets assume that it's true.

What is your experience with Dell ?

Using a Dell Studio 15 NB or more then a yr. No problem so far.

Previously owned XPS420. Breakdown every few mths. Ram, graphic card, motherboard etc. But all these becoz of 1 small design flaw...there are no case fan! The oni 2 fan 1 frm power supply and the other cpu cooler...3 yr on site warrany but still a drag to call every now and then...problem solved after i perm removed de side panel and get a table top fan 2 blow directly. Can't imagine how they design a gaming rig with no case fan...AW give it away 3 wks ago and get a diy...:D:D

De Vostro run on Intel Pentium P6200 Processor/ Intel Core i3-380M Dual Core CPU...Kinda slow leh...for surfing, Office application shd be still ok...

Dell Intros All in One Vostro 330 PC for SMB

0,1468,i=295567,00.jpg

Dell on Thursday announced its upcoming Vostro 330 all-in-one desktop PC designed for the small to medium business (SMB) user. The Vostro 330 is built into a 23-inch mutli-touch widescreen display, using Intel Core i3 and i5 processors. The system is designed for "high exposure" locations like reception desks and showcase office spaces, where traditional towers may not fit.

The Vostro 330 is similar in looks to the consumer-oriented Dell Inspiron One 2305, but like other Vostro products, the Vostro 330 is all business. The system doesn't have Dell Stage, Dell's multimedia launching utility, pre-installed, nor does it have any bloatware or trialware. Aside from Dell business support utilities and Roxio's Creator Starter, the only other thing on the hard drive is Windows 7 Professional and Trend Micro security software.

Here's the hardware specs and options: 23-inch widescreen LCD panel with multi-touch and true HD 1080p (1,920-by-1,080 resolution), built-in Webcam, removable rear cover for end-user serviceability, VGA-in, HDMI-in, wireless keyboard and mouse, Core i3/i5 processor, ATI discrete graphics option, facial recognition for security, and keyboard cubby under the screen.

The Vostro 330 is one of the least expensive all-in-one 23-inch PCs out there, with a starting price of $699 for non-touch models and $899 for touch-screen equipped models. The Vostro 3330 will be available starting March 24 at Dell.com.

Vostro is a business model. If U are buying this for your home, you might want to look at the customer models, cheaper

For those who own or used to own Dell PCs, how true is Dell's claim of on-site warranty on the next day ?

I have done a bit of my own research online, and it seems that the price comes with very little software installed. As for design, I would have preferred it to come with a stand just like iMac as I can then 'store' my keyboard underneath the monitor. And over here, 4 to 5 on a Richter scale earthquake is pretty frequent, so a solid stand is important.

Software not important. Can have pirated software.

I also using Dell monitors, got 3 of them 2@24" & 1@22". Have been warned that the on/off switch on the monitors may break down if overused:) So I turn off the power at the power bar.

When i first ordered the monitors they sent me 6 monitors:eek: Took awhile to straighten out the mistakes & had to keep chasing them until they took the 3 extra monitors back. It was messy having those boxes in my dinning room.

I'm not into gaming but I think that's why Dell has the Alienware line for the gamers. Don't really know how good those laptops are:confused:

If I was a gamer I'd just DIY using various gaming parts.

The main problem with using laptops is the heat the latest GPUs generate. If you really want the maximum experience you need to use 2 of the latest SLI/Crossfire GPU's which are very big & generate alot of heat.

With new GPU's being introduced every few months, a generic ATX box is easier to upgrade than some proprietary brand. Granted the Alienware product look nice.
