What do the japanese call a japanese person that's not a citizen of japan?

Can someone post here how the mongolians eventually ended up in korea and called themselves korean rather than mongolian? Korea already had an empire before the mongolians started their expansion during the 13th century btw.

Mongols are very far ranging. Read something like i think 1 in 10 men or is it 3 in 10 men alive today are direct descandants of ghengis khan. The surname khan is a very good example of mongolian ancestry in which many kelings have that surname.

Many turkish and central and eastern european empires have mongolian influences. Tamerlane is also a descendant of ghengis.

Japanese has 25% Chinese DNA and 24% Korean DNA.And there is no pure-blood nationalities in this planet.

bro i think its way beyond that 13th, i think around 10 000 bc

from wiki

Koreans are believed to be descendants of peoples of Manchuria, often said to be Altaic-[13][14] or proto-Altaic[15]-speaking tribes, linking them with Mongols, Turkic and Tungusic peoples. Archaeological evidence suggests proto-Koreans were migrants from south-central Siberia,[16] who populated ancient Korea in successive waves from the Neolithic age to the Bronze Age.[17]

yeah i suppose the mongolians in the very old days left mongolia went across siberia and settled in korea. I wonder then do koreans have their ancestry from mongolia taught to them thru legends and stories or they have real archalogical evidence for that. Heard a korea guy mention that before.

Past 4 days were with Japanese suppliers, morning till late night every day. I had an interesting conversation last night and it relates to where does Japanese come from. One said that its commonly believe by Japanese now a days that they are Mongol decent. He told me that one indication is most newly born children of both Mongols and Japanese has a small bluish mark near the backside and this fades away within 4 years.

Mongolian, Manchurian, Korean and Japanese languages are all related and different from Chinese. Although Korean and Japanese use Chinese characters and their own Hangul and Kanji designs were also based on Chinese characters, their languages are unrelated to Chinese except for loanwords in the vocabulary. It's just like when Malay is written in Jawi and look like Arabic, it's still not Arabic and Malays aren't related to Arabs.

Vietnamese bear a close relation to Chinese both in bloodline and in language even though written Vietnamese has been romanized since colonization by France. The name Vietnam 越南 was given to them by the Chinese, meaning land across the south which is exactly where Vietnam is from China. The name Nippon (Japan) 日本 was given to the Japanese by the Koreans meaning land of the rising sun, which is exactly where one is Korea sees the sun rises from every morning. The Japanese originally called themselves Yamato 大和。

What is important is not where they come from but through the centuries and millennia, due to their close proximity whether there were sufficient inter-breeding and cultural and linguistic assimilation to make everyone part of a homogenous yet differentiated whole. It is all these processes that make Chinese, Japanese and Korean who they are today. As someone mentioned in this thread, don't think there is a pure race.

Yes, well said. There's no magically pure race or language kept magically pure through the millennia. Points for you. :)

The mongols migrated from Siberia. And under the leadership of Genghis khan they founded the Mongol empire. An empire twice the size of the roman empire. The largest contiguous empire in the history of the world but after the collapsed of the Yuan dynasty what was left was just a Mongolia, the current forgotten landlocked country.

The word 'khan' in altaic language is a hereditary title held by rulers, an emperor of some sort. I dont know why and how it became some people's surname. Korea was actually ravaged when the mongols invades and conquers in the 3th century. It's quite interesting if you read about the mongols and the Mongol empire. Korean history and why they said they are descendants of mongols.
