Abrupt lane changes are indeed annoying, but it is becoming more common during peak hours because of the constant stream of Malaysian motorcycles riding between lanes on our expressways. On many occasions, I tried to switch lanes with my indicator on well in advance, only to be prevented from doing so by many bikers who speed up. By the time my exit comes nears, I have no choice except to speed up and make a switch which appears abrupt.
What if your judgement is poor & the car behind suay suay hit you? How about changing lane earlier instead of till near the exit? If peak hours, normally I will stay middle very early till exit. Otherwise, do abrupt change is just waiting for accident to happen & delay everybody time causing more jam during peak hour.

You probably didn't fully comprehend my earlier post. I attempted to switch to the extreme left lane well before the exit of the expressway several times, but was prevented from doing so by the endless stream of motorcycles that sped up to prevent me from doing so. They were riding in between lanes i.e. between the middle and left most lanes of the expressway.

I get it, the motorbikes population now creating 2 more lanes on highways. It is a big problem. I have same problem too. They create extra lanes. Unless ban the jhk motorbike, their population is not controlled in. Don't be surprised they are doing illegal phv.

I would never cut sharply to exit the expressway since it is dangerous as you rightly pointed out. I am frustrated that even signalling well in advance from the middle lane may not be enough to make it to the exit because the endless stream of bikers (mainly the Malaysian ones) speed up deliberately. As such, I now stick to the extreme left lane as far as 3 km before my intended exit.
