Ideally yes, since the paper Generals draw so much money every month, the NS men by right should be entitled to free rides at least during certain times of the day. However this is Singapore Inc so I dont see this happening.

Agree with what you said totally. The problem is pap's greed. pap wants to run smrt as a public listed company. So SMRT cant afford to give free rides for a national cause.

But if pap runs smrt and SBS as national companies, it can give free travels to NSFs and aged Singaporeans. Public transport shd never be run as a public listed company. It shd be run based at the most on cost recovery basis. that will make public trsanport affordable.

Like wise for public housing. It shd run based on cost recovery and not for profit making
