Wah Lau, Cow says it will take years to fix HDB flats supply problem!

If he sells the flats at cost, the market will burst and MORE pple will suffer coz the value of the house dropped. It's better to let the market correct itself over time.

Why will people suffer? Lets look at the categories of buyers and sellers that will benefit from flats sold at cost:
1) People buying flats for the first time
2) People buying resale flat as the price will come down due to the lowering of new build flat prices to cost basis.
3) People who bought their flats long ago might see some drop in their flat price, but overall, they still make a nice profit. eg if u bought your flat for $100K in the 80s, price peaked at $500k, and go down due to new flats sold at cost, seller will still make $250K or more.
