Dear Singaporean citizens and residents,

Following up to our article on TOC, we decided to organize a campaign to allow MDA to reintroduce dialects on Local TV/Radio Programs (i,e, no more dubbing our TVB dramas with mandarin voiceovers - but keeping subtitles of course)

I think abit pointless.

1. Most of us got internet. Can watch on pps etc etc. So pointless. I talking from tvb point of view.

2. Those older generation who love dialect shows but dont know internet already not around. So no demand on tv.

3. Younger generation dont know dialect. So they wont watch it.

In conclusion, the demand for dialect on free to air is not there lah. I watch online. Though the shows r older like last years. Still watch n no adverts.

for the sake of the older generations , the senior folks who are not tech savy. frankly speaking, watching taiwanese serials in hokkien version is so much more intriguing and real. and so are the canto serials in cantonese and not dubbed into artificial mandarin.
