A 14-year-old student attacked a classmate with a pen this morning (8) at the Dom Jacson municipal school in the Val Paraíso district, east of Manaus. The student pulled out a pen and hit the girl.
The video, which is circulating on messaging applications, shows the moment when the pupil leaves the presentation with the group of colleagues, pulls out a pen and slaps the pupil's body.
Later in the video, the student moves quickly and tries to stab the girl in the face with the pen. Teams from the 30th Community Interactive Company (Cicom) went to the scene.
According to delegate Juliana Tuma, head of the Specialised Investigation of Acts of Infraction (Deaai), there was a disagreement between the victim and the student aggressor during the presentation. The boy showed extreme irritation after the student laughed at a wrong word the aggressor said at the seminar.
"The victim will be referred to the criminal investigation department to determine the severity of her injuries. However, I have already decided to issue an arrest warrant for an offence similar to attempted murder due to the extreme violence used by the teenager," said Sheriff Juliana Tuma.
"What happened was that, according to the information gathered, the teenager said a wrong word and the victim laughed and this caused an irritation that was understood as disproportionate, but it is worth emphasising that this was a one-off situation and is a misunderstanding between students and not an attack on the school, nothing like that," the delegate detailed.
The minor perpetrator was taken to Deaai. At the time of writing, the Municipal Education Department of Manaus (Semed) had not yet commented on the case.
