thuy vu is her name, and i enjoyed her appearance and reporting on channel 5 (cbs) news. she anchored some of the evening news, and she was awesome. now she's taking over "this week in northern california" slot on kqed, which also hosts pbs shows.

if you read her perilous journey out of post-war vietnam in 1975, you'll notice sg is mentioned briefly, but not in good light.

"the journey became more perilous after their boat was denied port in singapore."

This type erection like, LOL

Morning bitches

Singapore gpvt does not want poor pple....
whether they are fleeing as refugees or....

Despite their lives being endangered after
getting turned away from singapiore their
future turned out well.

Here I must tell a story told to me abt unsung heroes
from Singapore who defied the law and sailed out to give food
to these refugees when the Singapore govt endangered their lives by denying
them port.

She looks really fierce...like Vietcong.

I had a school mate who signed on in RSN after O levels. He told us once about coming across an Indo-Chinese refugee boat crammed with people. The sailors on board the RSN naval vessel pooled together their Maggi Mee instant noodles and ration packs, gave it to the refugees, gave them one drum of petrol, and told them to carry on. My friend was in tears when he related the story, he must have felt like shit when they forced the refugee vessel back out to the oceans. He mentioned too that the boat the refugees were in was nothing more than an oversized sampan, crammed full of people. It there were major waves, it would flip over and everyone would drown at sea. Some people on board were babies. Those who made it successfully to US, Canada, UK, Oz must be very lucky. I wish them all the best to carry on with their lives. May God be with them.

Cheers!

Singapore in the news again. How delightful.
