Reminds me of a true historical event. The women of Weinsburg. Weinsburg was to be destroyed after losing a battle along with its defenders to King Conrad III. A surrender was negotiated which allowed the women to leave with whatever they coild carry. You can imagine the look on the soldiers faces when they came carrying their husbands, sons, fathers, ect.Many of the soldiers of varrying rank were annoyed and wanted to put an end to such foolishness, however the king was there as well. He said a king should stand by his word and allowed them to leave without incident.
