Instead of waiting for the worst, he should have fully committed to the conflict alongside Russia while there was still a chance of victory. Even if he attempts to reconcile with Zelensky, thfere is no guarantee that Belarus will remain safe if Russia ultimately fails.

Zelenskyy issued another ultimatum to Belarus, 5 days left to comply his demand of all factories, equipment, within its territory that serve Russia and participate in the war with Ukraine to dismantle and leave or face a full-scale attack.
