Why doesn't Putin just take out Vlodymr Zelensky like he did Prigozhin, especially since Zelensky seems to fly or travel all over Europe begging & putting on a show for money, should it not be easy? If not, why not so easy?
Geoffrey Widdison :
Because Zelensky doesn’t go to Russia.
If Zelensky did go to Russia, even with all of the assurances in the world that his safety would be guaranteed, I absolutely guarantee you that Putin would try to have him assassinated, and very well might succeed.
When Zelensky travels (and I’m not even going to address the silly claims about “begging & putting on a show), he travels to friendly nations. Places where Putin doesn’t have the power to project force, and where trying to send in assassins (even if he has the capability) could very well be seen as an act of war.
The only places Putin has the power to strike are in Russia, Belarus, and the occupied parts of Ukraine. If Prigozhin had the brains God gave geese, he would have gotten out of those areas as soon as he could and never came back. Instead, he apparently, very foolishly, trusted Putin and Lukashenko’s assurances of his safety. I’m only surprised that his death took two months to arrange.
