For every peaceful verse, there will be 10 violent or extrem verses contradicted it. Religious leaders outside of SG tend to preach the violent and extreme verses. The state can punish anyone according to the rules they legislate. But since no Islamic authority is enacted, no punishment under shariah can be carried out.

That court basically doesn't implement the full force and weight of shariah law. It's more matrimonial issues. It's handicapped by federal laws.

If they chop your hands for stealing, nobody will steal. If you refuse to pay your zakat so the the poor and needy gets the assistance they need, they break down your door, everybody will pay zakat.
