HANGZHOU - A viaduct under destruction collapsed in Hangzhou City, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province,
leaving one dead and three injured Monday afternoon, local authorities announced.
The accident happened at about 2 p.m. at East Desheng Road in eastern Hangzhou, the provincial capital, when the
viaduct was being dismantled by Zhejiang Engineering Co. Ltd of No. 24 China Railway Group Co. Ltd.
The 50-meter section which collapsed was between two piers. More than 28 rescuers are still combing the site to find if
there are more workers buried under the debris.
The three injured have been sent to a local hospital.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
